Anthony Lera

Carnival and copper work runs in Anthony’s family.  Self taught, he is the third generation of copper craftsmen.  Working in copper was both a creative outlet for Anthony’s father and grandfather, as well as a source of extra income, especially during Trinidad carnival season.

Anthony sees his work as a Trinbagonian fusion, embodying the multiple strands of his cultural background including English and Italian to the Carib and Arawak native tribes, Chinese and Spanish reflecting the foreign and indigenous peoples who have at some point called Trinidad & Tobago home.
